About the baker
A little more of the person behind the handshake.
Maxy Maligisa is a Swedish-born architectural assistant whose fine-art and design background shines through in her cakes. She began baking after the arrival of her first daughter, bringing Scandinavian flavours such as cardamom and saffron to the beautiful, carefully decorated bakes of series 13.
Maxy Maligisa baked on 13 (2022) of The Great British Bake Off. 2 Hollywood handshakes are on file — Baby Daisies macarons, Signature (2 / Biscuit); Classic apple-walnut cake, Signature (6 / Halloween).
She designed and renovated much of her own flat as well as her celebration cakes.
