About the baker
A little more of the person behind the handshake.
Syabira Yusoff won series 13 after bringing Malaysian flavours, scientific curiosity and remarkable focus to the tent. Born in Malaysia and based in London, she was working as a cardiovascular research associate and had only begun baking seriously a few years earlier—a spectacular case of a hobby finding its moment.
Syabira Yusoff baked on 13 (2022) of The Great British Bake Off. One Hollywood handshake is on file: Witch Apple cake, Signature (6 / Halloween).
Her series-winning celebration included an orangutan planet sculpture called “This Is My Home.”
