Yan Tsou is a biomedical scientist and laboratory researcher who brought a Hong Kong-born, British-raised perspective to series 8. Growing up in a household where steaming was more familiar than baking, she began baking seriously around demanding NHS shifts and became one of the tent’s most inventive flavour-and-design bakers.
Yan Tsou baked on 8 (2017) of The Great British Bake Off. One Hollywood handshake is on file: Mango fruit-hat steamed school pudding, Signature (5 / Pudding).
Her sourdough starter is called Muvver, and her fruit-hat pudding earned a handshake.
